More crazy sunset shots. This time the focus is Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral (Main Street) and its neighbor across the street and to the south, Kobi’s Automotive.
A gorgeous sunset over Main Street. Just the right conditions for great photos—wet, shiny streets after a storm, residual storm clouds in the sky, and just enough of a break in the clouds to let the sun illuminate everything in golden hour hues. From the top: Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral (built 1952). Next, a cool set of building at Main and Pritchard—Canadian Motorcycle, Tradesman Mechanical, and Friends Auto.
View from the large empty lot immediately northwest of the bridge.
I’ve wondered of late if this lot will ever be developed. Highrise views would be amazing: the river, the bridge, downtown to the south and the Ukrainian Church as well as St. John’s Park to the west.
One thing that could conceivably prevent such development: the mysterious blue goop on the river bank. Yeesh.
The massive fire at Speedway International, as seen from various vantage points around the city: from the Louise Bridge, St. Boniface Cathedral, the Redwood Bridge, and St. Cross Street.
