I’ve posted photos of this view a few times over the years now, but why not? It’s one of my favorite views of the city. If you squint your eyes a bit, this could almost pass for Vancouver. Okay, Vancouver in the early 70s, but still Vancouver.

A couple of shots from River Avenue: The First Church of Christ Scientist (built 1910), finally converted into condo after several years of construction, and the cluster of condos and apartments farther up River towards Wellington Crescent.

A couple of colorful dusk shots. Stella’s/Zip-Kleen (Sherbrook Street): New edit of a photo from 2008. I processed this one in black and white originally, but looking at it now I don’t know what I was thinking. So much gorgeous colour here—why waste it? 55 Nassau Street (built 1970): New edit of an old photo from 2008. I was never really happy with the color of this one in previous attempts—I think I got right this time.

A few sunset photos taken from one of the larger condo buildings on Wellington Crescent. The first one is a southwest view, looking towards Corydon Avenue, while the second two are of the northeast view.

Vi-Ann

Osborne Street. Old, previously unedited photo. The whole Osborne Village/Shopper’s Drug Mart/Vi-Ann/Movie village fiasco is too depressing to even talk about, and has been discussed plenty on pretty much every other Winnipeg blog. So I’ll stick with this photo, shot a couple of years ago in the Village.

First Church of Christ Scientist
River Avenue (built 1910, currently undergoing conversion to condos). Great to see work progressing on this great project in the Village.

First Church of Christ Scientist
River Avenue (built 1910). Back from a brief trip to San Francisco with a few posts of Osborne Village.

First Church of Christ Scientist is a definite favorite of mine, and I can’t wait to see new life breathed into it with the forthcoming conversion to condos.

55 Nassau
Nassau Street (built 1970). The tallest apartment tower in Winnipeg, 55 Nassau has always struck me–sadly–as somewhat of an uggo.

Wellington
Not 100% sure what this building is called. A Flickr user tells me it’s called Halter East. Can anybody confirm this?

Regardless, it’s one of my favorite apartment buildings/condos in the city.
