Part one of a tour of Melita, Manitoba.
Drive around 15 minutes west from Winnipeg Beach and you’ll find the perhaps the oddest choice for a roadside attraction you’ve ever seen—a massive mosquito sculpture. The cruelest of cruel jokes, the statue can be found in Komarno (“mosquito infested” in Ukrainian), the self-confessed mosquito capital of Manitoba.
Went out to see the snakes at the Narcisse Snake Pits back in early May. There were decent numbers of snakes, but not enough for me to get any notable shots unfortunately. The sculpture will have to do!
