Some shots under or near the rail bridge that runs parallel to Main Street and around Shaw Park. My office just recently moved into the neighborhood (yes, I have a 9-5 day job), so expect more from shots from the area over the next while.
Here are a few from the St. James Industrial area. They were taken during a pretty wicked dust storm. The camera’s sensor already needed a cleaning, so I figured what the hell. From the top: Dino’s (as seen from St. James); Enterprise (King Edward Street); behind St. James Street; the tracks behind St. James; 1308 Border; 1051 King Edward; and a spring cleaner on King Edward.
A look at the back side of St. James Street south of Dublin Avenue.
I’m always on the lookout for foggy mornings, especially on those first few warm days at the end of winter (these are from March 9). On this particular morning, the fog was some of the thickest I’ve ever seen in the city.
Here’s a series of views from the Slaw Rebchuk Bridge, taken on a gorgeous afternoon back in early September.
Off Note Dame Avenue. Pretty sure the police helicopter was circling over me as I was taking these photos.
Some sites from industrial St. Boniface. The tracks over Bickerton Street; another shot of Bickerton; and Dashmesh Darbar Cultural Centre on what I can only assume was a particularly slow night (Archibald Street).
View from the Arlington Bridge. -40 with the wind chill. Camera froze up before I did, which is amazing because my tolerance for the cold seems to be at an all-time low these days.
The view from behind the Co-Op on South Osborne.
A gorgeous sunset over the Canadian Pacific Rail Yards.
