A noon-hour Downtown photo walk. Highlights include the 360 Main Street re-cladding, which is coming along quite nicely, and the great new signage at the McKim Building (formerly the Crocus Building, and the Ashdown Hardware Store before that).
Some iPhone shots of a nice sunset from back in October.
Sun sets on a warmish day in early January, in and around downtown Winnipeg.
A mid-winter stroll down Portage Avenue.
A few from Portage Avenue, including the iconic Pianos signage, Canadian Super Shop, and The old Kings Theatre which, incidentally, was one of my go-to movie theatres as a kid. Among many others, I saw E.T. and Empire Strikes Back there.
A bit of a grab bag today, as I try to get somewhat caught up on my postings. From the top: Body Shades on Portage Avenue (it’s worth noting that the blue and white building to the left is now a restaurant, after being occupied for several years as some mysterious private social club); P&P Food Market on McGreggor; and Super Sudzer’s on Main Street.
Here are some shots of the the new Altexpo mural in the lobby of the brand new Alt Hotel on Portage Avenue. Consisting of over 2600 of my Winnipeg and Manitoba photos, the 2-sided floor-to-ceiling mural is a collaboration with the Sextans design studio in Montreal (I provided the photos and they did the design work). I think it came out great! Stop in and check it out when the hotel opens.
