Big changes coming to this portion of Downtown over the coming years. Construction is set to begin over the next little while on what will be Winnipeg’s tallest building. Although I don’t usually believe these things until the shovels hit the ground, I’m looking forward to something—anything—taking the place of the 40-year eye-sore on the corner of Main and Graham.

Pazsteaks (William Stephenson Way).

If you’re a regular visitor to this site, you might have noticed a spike in the number of Nutty Club shots, as well as others shot in the vicinity of Shaw Park. About a year ago, my office moved to the area, so I often find myself strolling the area during the lunch hour. There’s something about those Nutty Club buildings; I find them irresistible.

Say your goodbyes soon—The St. Regis will likely be demolished at some point over the next couple of years. Or will it?

Sigh. There was a time in Winnipeg Love Hate’s history when I used to actually look these things up.

After a tear-down on Ross Avenue, this old signage for Genser’s Furniture made a brief appearance. Once the lot was cleaned up, work began on a new new building that will likely conceal it for another 50 years.
