This has always been one of my favorite modern buildings in the city. Can’t say the leftover Broadway Bear out front does much for it, though.

Russell Building

University of Manitoba (1959).

Despite being a practical carbon copy of Mies van der Rohe’s Crown Hall at the Illinois Institute of Technology, the U of M’ Russell Building is one of the slickest modernist buildings in the city.
