An unexpected bit of news surfaced a few months ago—Christ the King Catholic Church will soon be converted into a performing arts theatre. Fantastic news for the area.
A few from the area around Health Science Centre, namely McDermot Avenue and Sherbrook Street. From the top: 707 McDermot; 705 McDermot; Northern Medical Unit (McDermot); HSC Parkade (William Avenue); Casa Benfica (Sherbrook); Ninho Portugal (Sherbrook); and Independent Fish (Sherbrook).
Ugh, my go-to Winnipeg neighborhood map has vanished from the Internet. It was fantastic—it listed specific neighborhood names and boundaries as well as the names of clusters of neighborhoods. I had been using it for years.
So if anyone knows of a reliable on-line source for neighborhood names and boundaries, please let me know. I can’t seem to find anything usable.
In the mean time, here are some shots from the North Central cluster (I think). The “Artists, Photographers, Lithographers, Engravers” building is on Ross Avenue; Crescent Fruit Co Ltd. is on Pacific Avenue; that’s the back of the Parts Source on Isablel; and those laptops for sale are also on Isabel, immediately north of the delicious, but unfortunately named Pho No. 1.
