If you like extreme weather (as I do), it’s been a great summer in Winnipeg. We’ve had a little bit of everything. This was a particularly nasty day, complete with deafening thunder and nickel-sized hail.
A few today centered on Mountain Avenue from McGreggor to McPhillips. From the top: Video-1001/North and Laundry and Faith Church, opposite one another at Mountain and McGreggor; Paul’s Solo Store at Mountain and Sinclair; and Asia Star Gifts on McPhillips.
Some odds and ends around the North End. A rather generic-looking Petro Canada “store” on Selkirk at McPhillips, an anachronistic “Modern Shoes” ghost sign at Selkirk and McGreggor, and the rear end ofon McGreggor.
McPhillips Street. I really dig the Jesus-Is-Lord-Perogie mascot on the side of the building. There aren’t enough proselytizing perogies in the world. Side note: the pulled pork perogies from Naleway Catering on Main Street are the closest I’ve ever come to having a religious experience to date while eating perogies. Or any other fried food for that matter.
Some shots from Selkirk Avenue on a grey, chilly evening. A couple of shots from the tracks near McPhillips, Valley Cleaners, Selkirk and Parr, and Selkirk Signs.
