So Winnipeg as an inland port, huh? Seems to me that this is how the city has been billing itself for about 130 years now, but “official” designation as an inland port sure is sexy.
Will the city and province get their shit together and make this happen? What effects will be seen in the inner-city/downtown area? Will the CP rail yards (Winnipeg’s literal “tracks” that have historically divided the city for its entire existence) be moved? And if so, what will the city do with this opportunity?
It’s an exciting time. Or at the very least, the potential for excitement seems relatively high.
